Great sushi place
Tried this place once with my friend and I am obsessed ever since. I like the fantastic vibes and delicious food and beverages. Keep up the good work.
High price and the food was not that good I paid 27$ for a steak and chicken combo which I normally would pay 15$ for
Great food, Great Service.
They serve quickly and good amounts of food
Good Sushi at Shiki, parking can be a challenge at times
Great place! Loads of rolls to share and good selection of other stuff. On an expensive side: $55 for light meal for two.
Treated my daughter and son in law to dinner for their anniversary. Four rolls, very tasty and filling. They fell apart easily, so a little hard to eat, but worth it
Came here for my girlfriend's company dinner. We were seated in a private area. The service was excellent, sake was plentiful and the food never stopped coming. The finale was a whole fish sashimi that was both beautifully presented and absolutely delicious! Given the excellent quality of the food with the large party, I have no doubt their food will be great for a small party. I will definitely be coming back in the future to try their other dishes!
Chicken Ramen was good just what we needed
REALLY GOOD FOOD. BEST FOOD EVER
Solid rolls, great kids menu. Hamachi kama was decent, but slightly overcooked. Solid spot for good sushi. Ambience is ok, but sports on over bar can be a distraction or a positive depending on your point of view.
Good Japanese restaurant with varieties of Japanese dishes not just Sushi or sashimi. Good service and there are parking on site. There are specials for happy hours too.
Yummy and comforting. Great atmosphereo, location, and food! Usually a first pick if we're craving sushi. 🍣
Great place & Jenny is the best waitress.
The most i have spent for teriyaki and the most disappointing plate of teriyaki. Over priced and not even a decent plate.
Hands down our family’s favorite place. Love the staff who remembers us and are always happy to see us even with out energetic kids. Comfortable atmosphere where we can relax. The high back booths give a semi private feel. I like the modern design with the down tempo music. Rarely have to wait for a seat. Love the cucumbertinis (make sure it’s made sweet. Can be hit or miss.) I’ve eaten a almost a hundred sushi joints and this is my favorite. The food is consistently good. Not the cheapest but I’m happy to pay a little more for quality and consistency.
Great food, the rolls (49ers, Dragon) and sashimi (Saba and Toro) were delicious
Nice place! Delicious food, beautiful presentation. Staff was close by and very professional. Forgot to take pics but had something I think called heaven roll..and it was divine!
Food is good but the service is lacking.
yummy, yummy 👌✌👍🍤🍜🍱
Nice waitstaff. Food good enough. The Kobe appetizer smelled and tasted like liver. Live music on Thursdays is usually good, but depressing tonight: love lost, etc... interpretations were challenging (the room’s acoustics maybe?)although the fellow had a small following. Always feels pricey to me for dinner...
This place has live music. The wait staff are super attentive. Good sushi. I would definitely go back
Good food and great service!
Shiki Bistro is a very good (excellent) Sushi restaurant with extremely fresh sushi. The chefs are perfect and the food is delicious. Whether you want a sushi roll or just the fish, the place is great. Price is not cheap but sushi never is. Try it and you will be hooked!
Very skimpy only chicken portion
This place only survives because there's not that many other sushi options in San Carlos. Super slow service combined with less than fresh fish. We had the sashimi platter and for $48, you get a lot of fish that are all grainy because it simply isn't fresh. Udon was ok but didn't feel authentically prepared and more of the packaged off-the-shelf variant. Salmon wrapped pan-fried scallop was just bland... won't be returning.
Incredible sushi and phenomenal service. I was in a party of 10 and the service staff was very attentive and quick. The food also came out very quickly. I was pleasantly surprised given how large our group was, and for not having a reservation too.
Decent American style Japanese food at a reasonable price. Modern interior. Very family-friendly, has a good menu for large groups.
We were party of 5 on Sunday lunch. Sat down promptly near by the window. Loved the restaurant’s atmosphere, interior space, food, drinks and the service by Jesica and Ratish. We had three big hot sake and two apple juice. We started with potstickers which they call gyoza or something. They were really good so we ordered 2 more plates. We had house salad, pretty good. We ordered two ramen with pork that was just so good. Haven’t had that kind of ramen for long time. We had jalapeño Sushi which was pretty good as well. Lastly, we had different flavored ice creams; mango, strawberry and chocolate for the dessert. Oh man! good lunch, yummm and healthy. Going back again.
Good service food was a good
Don't know y.Food is better than b4The Hamachi Kama was wonderful.Udon r goid 2
Great food....very fresh sushi....great service 👍👍
Happy hour is worth it!!
Very delicious sushi, great assortment and house rolls. We came here for a late Lunch and were served very nicely. The sushi was fresh and cool. Prices are affordable, nothing overpriced in our opinion. We recommend this place as a very good place we would come back to. 5 Stars from us!
Great service and amazing, super fresh sushi !
Servers rushing made this first time experience a bad one. Food was good
This place was pretty good I left to video reviews as well
impressive, food was excellent and servise was better than expected. Owner was present and check on the table 3 times, will certainly go back.
Am a regular and visit both San Mateo and San Carlos restaurantsEspecially when entertaining out of town visitors and each time, my friends were impressed and enjoyed the food very much
Food was good. Service was good.
Average sushi place. Nice place, but just ok food.
Great local sushi joint.
Best sushi on the peninsula! Staff is always friendly and great service......would recommend to all who like good sushi
Came here for the salmon reviews and atmosphere. Was not disappointed! We had attentive service and really good sushi. I liked the freshness of the salmon, the rice was good, rolls were creative, gyoza was the best we've ever had.
I have been going to Shiki Bistro and realized how deserving they are of a review! The manager Paul truly cares about his customers experience as well as his staff. He originally introduced himself to our table and made it known that he wanted us to enjoy our night at the establishment. He could get the sense we were all having a long day. We ended up eating multiple plates of spectacular sushi and appetizers and he gave us a free dessert to end our night. This place is great for any occasion and I will definitely be a return customer!
My son is a very picky eater... he ate almost everything in his bento box. The adult food wasn't bad either. 😉
Reasonably priced sushi. The nigiri sushi dinner combo is fresh and generously portioned. The designer rolls are OK. The happy hour (before 6pm) prices make this place busy. The serving staff is not very well experienced and the corner we sat had some strange bodily odor. The owner seems pre-occupied. Over all the service is below average but the food is OK for the price.
Tasty food and quick, friendly service. A good place to take the whole family.
